Lava/Larva is a Western Shinma from the anime/manga Vampire Princess Miyu. He is Miyu's guardian and companion. Lava truly understands Miyu, in way that no other being ever has. In a way he is the only true friend Miyu has.
I'm not sure what the "correct" way to spell his name is. I have a feeling it is Larva, but from watching the TV series, I have always pronounced it Lava. And then I decided the r was silent in Larva, so it would sound the same. *grin* Most fansites and the manga I've seen have it as Larva, but I don't think it's that big a deal either way. The buttons for the site have some with both spellings, and some without his name so everyone should be able to find one they like. If not, make one and donate it!
Vampire Princess Miyu is an anime chronicling the adventures of a vampire princess. Miyu is also a watcher, therefore it is her job to banish stray Shinma back to the darkness. In the TV series she is in school and viewers also get to see her interactions with classmates as well.
